The History of MAR Enterprise and MAR Building Solutions:

In 1956 Mr. Addy Martin started in the construction industry in Pennsylvania. He began working for a general contractor constructing stick framed buildings for the agricultural industry. The company employed a crew of approximately 50 people.

In 1969, Mr. Martin began full time employment with Butler Manufacturing. His position was a Technical Service Representative. Addy traveled for Butler, and offered technical support to the building crews for Butler Buildings when problems arose during the erection process. One of Addy’s greatest highlights during his employment with Butler Building, was traveling to Saudi Arabia and installing Butler products. In 1971 Butler relocated Mr. Martin and his family to Lee’s Summit to be closer to Butler Headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri. During his employment in Kansas City, Mr. Martin began working at the Butler Research Center developing new ideas and patents for the Pre Engineered Metal Building’s (PEMB) that Butler manufactured.

It was in 1976 that Mr. Martin left Butler Manufacturing as a Technical Service Representative, and went on to establish MAR Enterprise LLC., where he began a new chapter of his career installing Butler buildings. Butler listed MAR Enterprise LLC as the Jackson County Missouri exclusive Butler Dealer. Some of the first buildings were installed locally in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, however the company eventually expanded into the Greater Kansas City metro area. MAR was a one-stop-shop for many prospective owners. MAR handled all of the aspects of construction from architectural drawings, civil engineering, site prep, concrete, plumbing, electrical, and tenant finish. During Mr. Martin’s career, as a Butler builder, it is estimated that MAR Enterprise erected over 120 buildings in the Greater Kansas City metro area.

In 1992, Chad Anderson and Addy Martin crossed paths on a project for Lumar LLC in Lee’s Summit, Missouri where they were working on a building erection. That was the beginning of both a great joint working relationship, with a Mentor to be admired. In 2011 Case Enterprise, an overhead door company owned by Chad Anderson, began installing overhead doors in all of MAR Enterprise projects; owned and operated by Mr. Martin.

In 2013, during his employment with A. Zahner Architectural Sheet Metal, Chad Anderson approached Addy Martin about taking over the Butler Franchise and MAR Enterprise. Since 1976 Mr. Martin has had the exclusive rights as the Jackson County Missouri Butler dealer. This was a reputable business that Chad Anderson knew he could expand to greater achievements, not only for himself, but for his good friend, Mr. Addy Martin.

In 2014, Mar Building Solutions was started under the supervision of Mr. Martin with Chad Anderson as the President. As Mr. Martin moved closer to retirement, MAR Building Solutions became the approved Builder for Butler in the Kansas City metro area.
